Finally, Balckphone Android Security Can Be Hacked

Finally, an Android-based smartphone, Blackphone Kitkat claimed the safest in the world by its creator, Silent Circle can be hacked as well. This was disclosed by a security expert named Justin Case apparently succeeded in "breaking into" Blackphone in DefCon Conference taking place in Las Vegas, USA.

Blackphone have specifications include layat 4.7-inch (1280 x 720) quad-core processor, 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of storage, and an 8 megapixel camera with flash. The price is pegged at a range from 629 u.s. dollars.

Case said that he only takes five minutes to gain root access on the device and enable Debugging Android Bridge (ADB). He even don't need to unlock bootloader Blackphone.

Nevertheless, the Silent Circle says that things which are done by the Case do not show the weakness of the security of its products.

"ADB is not turning on the security loophole because it is part of the Android operating system," said CSO Silent Circle cited by PCPro. "We shut down the ADB since it is an application bug can affect the user experience."

Most exploit discovered by Case has now been patched. The rest can only be accessed by requesting the user's approval. However, it does not unregister raising fears about security Blackphone.

Silent Circle is indeed put forward the security aspect on BlackPhone. This phone uses Android custom version named Kitkat PrivatOS.
